Founded in 1983, its mission is to improve the lives of people who are affected by celiac disease or non celiac gluten sensitivity with information on the disease and the gluten-free diet. Its efforts are aimed at increasing the knowledge of celiac disease among the public and health professionals, in order to promote early detection. FQMC encourages and supports research. Through the organizations’ activities Fondation québécoise de la maladie coeliaque helps improve the quality of life for those people affected by gluten. The FQMC is a respected voice in Canada for providing its services, entirely in French.

The Gluten Free Garage is a pop-up marketplace of all things deliciously gluten free—like a farmers’ market with a gluten free twist! At our inaugural event on November 11, 2012, 1,500 hungry patrons flocked to the Gluten Free Garage, where they sampled and purchased gluten-free food and lifestyle products from about 50 (mostly local) vendors. Attendees and exhibitors alike felt the tummy love!
